Dear Friends:

Thank you for taking the time to visit my campaign web site.  I have enjoyed serving the people of San Diego as the 2nd District City Councilmember, and I hope to spend another four years finishing the many great projects we have started. My main focus has been on bringing financial stability and accountability back to City Hall. As chair of the Audit Committee, I’ve worked hard to restore the City’s credit rating and repair its credibility with investors.  We are now back on the public bond market, which will help us make much needed infrastructure improvements.  I also campaigned hard for Proposition C in 2008, which voters overwhelmingly approved last June.  It strengthened the City’s Audit Committee and created a much needed independent auditor.[image # 1]

While there is no greater priority than resolving our financial issues, I also believe that it is important to protect our quality of life. In San Diego, that starts with our beaches and bays. I helped draft and pass the Mission Bay Park measure, which voters overwhelmingly approved this past November. The measure ensures that money generated in Mission Bay Park is invested there and at other city parks.
